House hunting
Whoever thought hunting for a property to buy could be so difficult? I visited 4 properties this weekend, and loved 2 of them, thought I had wasted my time with the other 2.
But for the 2 that I was interested in, paying upwards of £250,000 for a two bedroom apartment set alarm bells ringing in my head. I’m already having trouble trying to secure a £200,000 mortgage, where am I going to get the other £50,000 from?
Maybe it’s all tied down to me wanting to pay off the mortgage in 15 years, and not 25.
Anyway, I took some photos, which I’ve uploaded to my Flickr album for everyone to see.

It looks like you’re viewing a lot of showroom/specifically built apartments. If you want more bang for your buck, you could try looking at conversion flats. All in all though, definitely spend as much as you can afford - the first step on the ladder is the biggest one, and the rest will/should just follow on from the rung that you’ve chosen to start on.

Cheers for the advice Remy. This will actually be my second step - I took the first step 3 years ago.
